LTC Don Peters served 31 years and passed 8 days before his separation date. He enlisted in the California State Guard while in college earning the rank of SGT before he commissioned upon graduation. LTC Peters was then assigned as an Infantry Officer in the Cal Guard. He transferred to the PAO for the Kentucky Guard then later became Active Duty full time assigned to Fort Benning where he deployed to Iraq with the 18th Airborne Corps, better known as the Sky Dragons. From there he went into a long stint with MRD: training with industry at Flieshman Hilliard then into the OIL Chief at MRD, PAO for the 21st TSC Panser Kasern, Germany, PAO for Arlington National Cemetery and his final assignment in the Plans Shop at MRD where he wrote the COVID Plan for the Joint Chief GEN Millie. He passed after a brief 8 days illness not covid related.
13th person ever to be awarded the Ancient Order of St Gabriel while stationed with the 21st TSC on Panser Kasern, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
