Hershel "Woody" Williams Foundation
The Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments are co-sponsored by the Hershel "Woody" Williams Foundation. Woody was the only living medal of honor recipient from WWII, until June 29, 2022. The foundation has co-sponsored more than sixty monuments throughout the United States. These monuments help heal the wounds of the family members who lost a loved one. They are a constant reminder to the community of the sacrifice made by many.
