Mark story started before the military, but that would be a book to tell his story. So, in 2006 Mark enlisted in the Navy and attended basic training in Great Lakes followed by Sub school and Submarine Radio in Groton Ct. After this he got stationed on the SSBN 739 Nebraska as a radioman/electronics tech. Then he reenlisted and was stationed in Hawaii with Naval Special Warfare Logistics and Support unit 3, SDV1 (SEAL Delivery Vehicle TEAM 1). He was in charge of a crew that made sure that the SEAL Teams had whatever gear they needed and got it to wherever they were going. He also was in charge of the crew that made sure that the SDV's electronics etc. were working and got them to wherever the TEAMS wanted them. They got flown to wherever to meet the Subs wherever they were, like Bahrain and he would go where they went. After this tour of duty he got stationed on the SSGN 726 Ohio until 2017 when he got medically discharged for PTSD due to his service with the TEAMS and that's all I know about that or ever will know. Mark was a very smart man and was well liked by the men on the subs he worked with and also the men on the SEAL Teams he worked with. They'd given him a Paddle which is normally given to SEALS after passing BUDS and someone made a nice carving of an SDV and placed it on a plaque and gave it to him, "from the men of Charlie platoon". They also flew to Virginia to be at his funeral there and sent flowers. After getting out, his family moved from Bangor, Washington to Lexington, Kentucky in 2017 and then packed up and moved here to Washington in 2018 with all of their belongings on their way to Hawaii to live again. That deal fell through so they took their POD and moved to Virginia Beach. He made it until Jan 19, 2020. He has two kids, one son 12 and daughter 15 as of today 8/8/2026
