Danielle Marie Hughes was born November 23, 1984 at Ft Ord, CA. She graduated from Fife High School in Fife, WA in 2003. Danielle had a heart for giving back to her community. Once she learned how to drive she would carry bags of food, socks and hand warmers to give out to the homeless on the side of the road & at stop signs. Later she volunteered as a Big Sister, donated to AMVETS, volunteered with the Kansas Wildlife Society and served as a driver for Airmen Against Drunk Driving. Danielle truly lived a life of service serving proudly in the Air Force and as a lifetime Girl Scout.

Danielle joined the Air Force at in Nov. 2002 at 17 in the delayed enlistment program went in after graduation on July 15, 2003. She began her military career as a Boom Operation with the 384th Air Refueling Squadron, McConnell AFB, KS. She repeatedly deployed in support of Operations Enduring & Iraqi Freedom flying more than 130 combat sorties and off-loading in excess of 2M lbs of fuel to 49 different coalition aircraft. She was handpicked to support the Presidential Lift for the Asian Economic Conference. Danielle then joined the 931st Aerospace Medicine Flight as an Ophthalmic Craftsman. She was requested to backfill the clinic when undermanned due to her stellar reputation, work ethic & history of selfless service.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
